Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic person who is keen to work with children and to learn with them. We are offering a part-time traineeship at Kinma Preschool with 3-5 year olds.  It would be Monday to Friday 11am-2:30pm. We will provide this hands-on training by supporting you to be a flexible and responsive educator whilst you complete your Certificate III Early Childhood Education

 

Role description

You will gain on the job experience whilst studying for 12 months. There will not be any costs for the course and you will receive an hourly rate for all hours worked. Upon successful completion of the traineeship, you will be issued with a nationally recognised Certificate III Early Childhood Education. You will have the opportunity to work with highly experienced and passionate colleagues as you start your career working with children.

Building relationships with the children will be the most important part of your role.  This will be done through engaging with the children in activities like reading stories, being involved in craft activities, assisting children with their needs, and bringing exciting activities for the children to do. Being part of a team is another major part of your role, communicating, sharing ideas, listening, and learning together.

There will be paid study time per week to complete your course work.  You will be supported by a trainer with along with role modelling and guidance from the experienced staff at Kinma.

 

Required skills

  • Have a genuine interest in a long-term career within Early Childhood education.
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be willing to commit to a 12-month traineeship program.
  • Hold no previous formal qualifications (in any field).
  • Be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check or state equivalent.
